Author: Ozana Gherman | Architecture | Monday, 17 March 2008

Constructed by architects Mike Tonkin and Anna Liu, The Singing, Ringing Tree stands tall on land previously surfaced by radio towers. The intellectual intent is to construct pieces that evolve from what used to erect on the land. The stacked galvanoized steel pipes create different notes from wind pressures that pass through the tubes. The sculpture sings songs at blustery Penines in England.
