Shadows of Medieval Times

Hand-made glass lamps inspired by medieval times designs were presented at Eat Drink Design, a temporary restaurant set up in Eindhoven during the Dutch Design Week.
“These bottles were mainly used to store herbs and liquor. The subtle contrast of the matte and clear glass gives a magic appearance, but also shows patterns inspired on the scenery around the table and kitchen in medieval times. Herbs, kitchen tools, sugar-tongs, deers of pate and cups form a neat play of light.”
Each lamp in this series has a unique pattern, each one different from the other. Created by Kiki Van Eijk, the Dutch designer hit the scene in 2001 with a flare for mixing old techniques with new applications and surprising viewers with original pieces that are layered with aesthetic appeal and depth.

Nice post. Danielle and I are going to the Interior Design Show in Toronto. You should join us, we are going to get some nice pictures.
