Meltdown Chairs

UK based designer Tom Price brings forth an edge with the 2007 series Meltdown Chairs. Carefully selected items are morphed by compression through a heated seat former which melts down the synthetic materials creating a smooth surface to lounge on. PVC hose, polypropylene rope and plumbing tubes boldly bond together to install a contrast between surface texture and form. With a background in fine art and vast experience as a carpenter and interior decorator, Price takes a diverse approach to application.

Too bad we couldn’t go to the Interior Design show. Go to sleep earlier next time, ok?
Absolutely adore this. The chair is such a funky design, kids would love playing all over these I’m sure. Such a statement this would make! Definatley a conversation piece.
