This is chromed clay furniture by Dutch designer Maarten Baas. They are chrome-glazed with industrial clay applied over a metal frame, and each fan is hand-made by Baas. This sort of clay modeling magnifies the sculptural quality of these peculiar shapes. These are objects that deliberately blur the distinction between production and craft, and between industrial and decorative arts.
