Concept Phone for a Greener Environment

LINC is a touch screen smart phone with even more features then an iPhone. It’s got a cell phone, media player, web browser, GPS, downloadable content, Bluetooth (I wish iPhone had bluetooth), wifi, the latest 3G network. Looks just like another nice looking concept phone, but wait…
How is this Green?
This phone’s concept is to provide to users as a “Service” instead of a “Product”. As soon as you get the LINC service, the company will “lease” you the phone. Whenever there’s an update, you will get the latest version of it, but instead of updating the software like updating the firmware for iPhone, you get another version of LINC.
The LINCs inform the user of their hardware upgrade, wirelessly transfer the digital account. Your older LINC will be back to the manufacturer.

The device contains valuable materials like aluminum, glass, and electronic components that the producer can harvest for re-use.

The Problem I See:
It is a really good idea for reducing all the wastes from electronics. But the problem I see now is, how do they manage to provide the stable services and make sure they can deal with every “returning issues” if the amount of users grows. It would be quite a big investment for companies to start providing this service, don’t you think?
