The human ribcage protects our internal organs from damage as we move about in the world. In a recent collaboration with Samsonite’s Black Label, fashion designer Alexander McQueen has applied this basic principle to his macabre line of luggage. Modeled on an actual male torso, with a faux ribcage on one side and a spine on the other, it playfully alludes to the practical design sensibility and sense of strength that defines the brand. Even the pull handle resembles a human bone and the zipper pulls bear the imprint of Alexander McQueen’s own fingerprint. Truly a unique piece of luggage, this is nature and technology infused.
