
This past November a number of designers united at the 2007 DesignTide in Tokyo, Japan. Serious talent poured into the auditorium. Local talent that emerged features Kazuyuki Kawase. The recent graduate from Tohoku University of Art and Design, majoring in product design, exhibited his Honey-Comb light. The fluorescent lamp features a horizontal glow that is consistent throughout the center of the structure. This lamp is A new member of link Kawase, is progressing towards elegant style.

A balanced blend of form and function, Faro is leading the lighting industry with sculptural originality and practicality. The structure is constructed from machined aluminum and holds two split-level panels that emit a downward light through innovative LED lighting engines. The base also contains a soft color shifting light which changes the mood of the living space. Mindspring designs strive towards distinct creations that forward efficient, leading-edge technology, in harmony set the mood for any surrounding.

Hand-made glass lamps inspired by medieval times designs were presented at Eat Drink Design, a temporary restaurant set up in Eindhoven during the Dutch Design Week.
“These bottles were mainly used to store herbs and liquor. The subtle contrast of the matte and clear glass gives a magic appearance, but also shows patterns inspired on the scenery around the table and kitchen in medieval times. Herbs, kitchen tools, sugar-tongs, deers of pate and cups form a neat play of light.”
Each lamp in this series has a unique pattern, each one different from the other. Created by Kiki Van Eijk, the Dutch designer hit the scene in 2001 with a flare for mixing old techniques with new applications and surprising viewers with original pieces that are layered with aesthetic appeal and depth.
